MICHELE YOUNG
founder/director
Michele Young, a mother of five and former endorsed Democratic Congressional candidate in 2016 and the highest vote getter since 2008, has always had a passion and desire to create impactful change. After graduating from Georgetown University Law Center, Michele clerked for federal judges, learning the power of law and has vowed to utilize it for the good of the people. Since then, she has taught as an adjunct law professor, co-authored a book for the American Bar Association on health care, worked hard to bring the minority women into elected office and serves proudly as an old-fashioned lawyer, viewing her position to redress each and every injustice as an honor and a privilege.
Through her experiences as a lawyer and caregiver, she has seen how the issues that impact her life and her children have been neglected. She tries to make life safer for children, emotionally and physically, with her long-standing “I just don’t do it campaign” on television.
A lawyer who speaks for those who do not have a voice, who have been bullied, forgotten, left behind, or counted out, Michele believes in an America where every everyone has an honored seat at a table.Michele has spearheaded and pioneered successful public interest, and civic campaigns of the heart.
Targeting children and teaching compassion, empathy, and kindness with Patrica Collins and the Bootsy Collins Foundation, Michele and Patrica tell children to blow the whistle on blowing and just don’t do it.
As a lawyer, Michele takes on cases, regardless of the personal cost or popularity, of clients, in the spirt of her Atticus Finch.. She is one of the attorneys for Gabriel Taye, the 8 year old two committed suicide after he was bullied. She is one of the attorneys for Sherry Chen, the Chinese American scientist whose life was turned upside down by a false espionage charge. She was one of the volunteer lawyers who fought for Tyra Patterson who served 23 years for a crime she did not commit.
This take on social justice— seeing the humanity in each other, recognizing other’s strengths, and acknowledging the unique path that has brought each individual to this very moment, and acting with a loving heart— is what motivates Michele to to bring people together, to give everyone a seat at the table, to serve as an advocate, strive and to create impactful, lasting change.
